Last July 2003, an activity was held at the Main Square at il-Munxar, Gozo on the occasion of the official endorsement of the twinning between il-Munxar and Ragalna. Prior to this social activity, the il-Munxar Mayor Mr Joseph Sultana and the Mayor of Ragalna Avv. Vittorio Carone inaugurated a new public garden, which was given the name of “Ġnien Ragalna”. This was partly sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority.
The distinct guests then laid their way to the il-Munxar Square assisted and accompanied by traditional marches played by the Ta' Kerċem Band “San Girgor”. As an introduction to the evening, the History of il-Munxar and Ragalna was narrated in Maltese, and Italian. The welcome speech by the Mayor of il-Munxar, followed.
The evening included several musical items, the signing of the contract between the mayors of the two localities, speeches were delivered by the Mayor of Ragalna, Rev. Fr. Frankie Bajada, the il-Munxar Chaplain and Hon. Mrs. Giovanna Debono. Some memorials were given to the distinctive guests. The evening ended by the singing of the National Italian Anthem followed by the Maltese National Anthem. Afterwards an open air dinner was held in the same Square offering traditional Maltese Cuisine.
